What I Wear

Within the tech savvy world, many social norms include posting selfies of what people do in a day. Specifically, what people wear in a day or what people eat in a day. Many people think it’s very social to post what they are doing throughout their everyday lives. Yet, it can be very invasive when coming to privacy and people think about social hierarchies. Throughout society today people truly think that they are cool or popular. Occasionally people can be very foolish or even offensive in a way throughout technology. People tend to want to post so everyone can see them doing exciting and cool things so that people wish they were doing those activities. These followers might even do their exact actions within the posts. Personally I don’t post many selfies all the time. Unless it is a special occasion I ever post something. Specifically, I post when I am in Europe or traveling to exotic places that people don't get the chance to see all the time. Many of my friends like to post on instagram so show off their aesthetic feed and keep everyone updated within their lives. I'm more of a person that goes by the “absence makes the heart grow fonder” type of post. Therefore, these posts can be very appealing and create good ideas for others to do or could be impacted very negatively throughout social media and the cancel culture.

  1. I like your point on posting being invasive, we are so used to constantly being online but sometimes it can be too much. -Deven

  2. I LOVE how you took your photos and added the captions on top of them, it's a very chic and clean looking format. I also really liked your explanation of how you use instagram and how that differs from your peers and other people. It highlights how social media is only what you make of it. - milan
